General Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality: Must be a citizen of India. 
  • Age: Varies by post, but generally between 18 and 25 or 28 years old. 
  • Educational Qualification: Varies by post, from Matriculation to Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Physical Standards: Height, weight, and chest measurements (for males) are specified. 
  • Medical Standards: Candidates must be physically and mentally fit, with no physical defects. 
    Specific Roles and Eligibility:
  • CRPF Constable: 10th pass, age 18-23, height 170 cm (male), 157 cm (female), chest 80-85 cm (male). 
  • CRPF Head Constable: 10+2 (12th pass), age 18-28. 
  • CRPF Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI): 10+2, age 18-25, no prior experience required. 
  • CRPF Sub Inspector (SI): Bachelor’s degree, specific subjects may be required depending on the specialization. 
    CRPF PET Details:
  • 1.6 km Race:
    Candidates need to complete a 1.6 km (1 mile) race within a specified time. For example, male candidates may need to complete it in 6 minutes 30 seconds.
  • Long Jump:
    Candidates are evaluated on their long jump ability, often requiring them to clear a certain distance in a given number of attempts.
  • High Jump:
    Similar to the long jump, the high jump assesses jumping ability with a specific height and number of attempts.
  • Shot Put:
    This test evaluates the candidate’s throwing strength, with a specified weight and distance.
  • Qualifying Nature:
    The PET is generally a qualifying round, meaning there are no marks awarded, but candidates must meet the minimum standards to pass. 
    Physical Standard Test:
  • Height:
  • Male: 170 cm 
  • Female: 157 cm 
    Chest: (for males only)
  • Unexpanded: 80 cm 
  • Expansion: Minimum 5 cm 
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age 
    Vision:
  • 6/6 in one eye, 6/9 in the other, without correction 
  • Corrective lenses are not allowed for vision relaxation. 
    Salary Details:
    Constable:
  • Basic pay starts around Rs. 21,700 and can reach Rs. 69,100.
  • Approximate in-hand salary can range from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 35,000, depending on location. 
    Head Constable:
  • Pay scale can range from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100.
  • Grade pay is typically around Rs. 2400. 
    Sub-Inspector:
  • In-hand salary can range from Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,500 per month, including allowances. 
  • Pay scale can be in Level-6, with an approximate starting salary of Rs. 40,000 – Rs. 45,000. 
    Inspector:
  • Pay scale can range from Rs. 27,900 to Rs. 1,04,400. 
  • Pay level can be Level-7, with an approximate starting salary of Rs. 45,000 – Rs. 50,000. 
    Assistant Commandant:
  • Basic pay starts around Rs. 56,100. 
  • Pay level can be Level-10, with an approximate starting salary of Rs. 56,000 – Rs. 61,000. 
    Allowances:
  • CRPF personnel receive various allowances in addition to their basic pay, including Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Uniform Allowance, and Transport Allowance.
