To Join the Indian Army
Here is the General Requirements:
Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
Qualifications:
Depending on the specific post, ranging from 10th pass to a graduate degree.
Medical and Physical Fitness: Must be physically and mentally fit according to standards.
Marital Status: Some entry schemes have restrictions on marital status (only unmarried candidates).

Specific Requirements:
National Defence Academy (NDA):
Age: 16½ to 19½ years.
Qualification: 12th pass (10+2 pattern) or equivalent.
Technical Entry Scheme (TES):
Qualification: 10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with a minimum aggregate of 60%.
Combined Defence Service Examination (CDSE):.
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Short Service Commission (Technical) Entry:
Qualification: Engineering degree or equivalent.

  • Agniveer:
    Agniveer GD (WMP): 10th pass with 45% and each subject must contain 33%.
    Agniveer Tradesmen: 8th/10th pass, 10th / ITI and 8th pass (for some trades) with 45% & each subject must contain 33%. 
  • Soldier (General Duty) (All Arms):
    10th/Matric pass
    Age 17.5-21 Years
  • Soldier Technical (Technical Arms, Artillery, Army Air Defence):
    10+2 pass with specific subjects.
    Age 17.5 – 23 years,
  • Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical (All Arms):
    Age 17.5 – 23 years,
    10+2 pass. 
  • Soldier Nursing Assistant (Army Medical Corps):
    Age 17.5 – 23 years,
    10+2 pass with specific subjects. 
  • Soldier Tradesman (All Arms):
    8th/10th pass with specific trades. 
  • Surveyor/Automated Cartographer (Engineers):
    Age 20-25 years,
    BSc with Maths and Science as main subjects. 
  • Sepoy Pharma (Army Medical Corps):
    Age 19-25 years,
    10+2 pass with specific subjects. 
  • Territorial Army:
    Age: 18 to 42 years.
    Qualification: Graduate from any recognized university. 

Selection Process:
Depending on the entry scheme and job category, typically involving written exams, physical fitness tests, and interviews (SSB).
Recruitment Rallies:
Recruitment rallies are conducted throughout the year by the concerned ZROs (Zone Recruiting Offices).
Salary
The Indian Army salary ranges from ₹21,700 to ₹2,50,000 per month.

  • Dearness Allowance (DA): Based on inflation rates, this ensures that the real income of personnel remains stable.

  • Uniform Allowance: ₹20,000 annually.
